A Special Privilege for ALL AMERICANS…the ability to CHOOSE

Americans know that voting is a special privilege and vote they did in 2014…making the Republicans the majority in both the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate!

For those who do not take this privilege for granted, the line can not be too long or the place too challenging. They will get out and vote. Others leave the privilege to someone else. I think there are some great reasons for voting and some great pictures to prove the point just given:

  • We can vote because we are free!
  • We will most likely not be shot at the polls…as in some countries.
  • Americans have died on the coasts of Normandy and places around the world, to see that we can keep this privilege.
  • If we voted and things did not work out the way we hoped, we can vote again in another election, and see if we can get it right.

We can debate the issues…agree to disagree…but the FINAL VOTE IS OUR OWN.

Enjoy these pictures of American voters:

Everyone can vote

Religion does not matter…just vote

Thank you to all of you  who used this privilege on voting day!

  1. You are absolutely right, Stephen! Thank God for the freedoms that we have. It is hard to believe that those who are so oppressed would want to tear down or destroy a society like ours. I often read the stories of immigrants and what they endured to have a better life. We must hang on to what we have and try to improve those things that are wrong. Blessings…and thanks for writing. I always enjoy your comments. Nancy

  2. What great photos. I have voted at every election big and small since I reached the age limit. It’s always a privilege and responsibility that I enjoy as it is the one legal opportunity we have to make our government how we want it to be. I don’t mind disagreeing with those who voted for other parties but I have little time for those who don’t vote and then complain that things aren’t right. Our ancestors spent thousands of years moving slowly towards out current freedoms and safeguarding our votes with millions of lives. Even if you don’t like any party, you can spoil your vote and if enough people do that, someone somewhere will notice. Write to your elected representatives, gather petitions and groups based on local issues or even start your own political party.

As Churchill said “Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.”

Get out and vote and enjoy that one moment that you’re truly free!
