“ALL”…a tiny word
The word “all” has only three small letters. Yet, it has such great meaning. Consider this:
To give ALL of one’s possessions…energy…or interest means a great commitment. Even in our beliefs and thoughts, we can say, “We are giving our ALL to that cause because we believe in it!”
Is there anything in which you are giving your ALL?
You might respond…”to my family…my business…etc.”
What about your faith?
When we say in our hearts, “Yes, Lord, I believe in You as my Savior and I want my “whole” life to be Yours.” That “whole” means “all.” This doesn’t mean just on Sundays or when I’m in a tight spot and need God’s help. It means ALL THE TIME.
The Holy Scriptures says, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, behold, ALL things have become new.”
Take a moment to ponder this. As a Christian, has everything that was the “old” you become the new you in all your ways? As we dig deep into the Christian life, here are some of the things that you may need to give some thought…to have a life pleasing to God:
- It might mean that you have to decide who really are your friends and what kind of leisure time do you spend with them. You know the activities that would not be pleasing to God. They don’t have to be listed here.
- Does your family have the time they need with you? That question is to all the workaholics.
- How much time do you spend thinking about and reading God’s word?
- Does your new life also include praying about ALL things? (You really don’t mean ALL things…do you? Why should I pray about going to work, shopping for groceries or gardening in the yard? Well, your day should be filled with His guidance…so what’s wrong with praying for ALL those things? )
“I can do ALL things through Christ Who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
It is a great joy to the believer to know that we can call upon God for all things. He has said, “And my God shall supply ALL YOUR NEEDS according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
Have you given your ALL to Jesus? Whatever your ALL may be, surrender it to Christ, our Lord. He will hear you and help you to be ALL that you want to be in life. More importantly….all He wants you to be.
