N.W.BOYER…Christian Author… Looking for the Coming of Christ

CRITICAL Waterways

The world seems like a tinder box waiting to ignite. It is most unsettling with all the other concerns that the world’s people are facing…Pandemics, violence, racial unrest and much more.

Even though, I prefer to write something on this blog uplifting and inspirational, it may be good to look at the concerns that we…and the world face. When there is instability, all areas of life can suffer. This includes products and companies that depend upon oil. Shortages, as we know, brings a panic of rushing to obtain and stockpile before others can. It is a hard, cold fact of our world. No one wants to go back to the days of long gas lines to fill up our car’s tank. Neither do we want to look at empty shelves at the grocery store. If there was any time that we should be praying for world’s ability to get along, it is now.

Where is the Strait of Hormuz in the Middle East?

Yellow arrow shows the tiny Strait of Hormuz next to Iran and the cargo/oil tankers moving through the area.

IMPORTANCE: Shipping from all nations use this waterway.

Ships patrol the area
British tanker, Stena Impero, was seized by Iran, after incident with small vessel in the Strait of Hormuz…but finally released. Other cargo ships have had similar problems, showing a fragile waterway for all nations.

Could this tiny waterway lead to all out world war…or the end of times?

The Holy Scriptures does not mince words when Jesus speaks of the “end times.” Does this waterway have anything to do with this prophecy? It is not known.

What does the Scripture say? (Matthew 24)

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?

Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, `I am the Christ,  and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.”

What will happen to believers during this time?

Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.

Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come...”

(Jesus says more in Matthew 24: verses 15-43. Get a Bible and read it for it is not for the faint of heart.)

The BBC video below is an excellent explanation of the importance of world waterways, especially the one called “Straits of Hormuz.”
