What are your INTENTIONS?
We are about to start a brand-new year…2022. What are your intentions for this year?
There will be more commercials telling you that you should lose weight and just how to do it in 10 easy steps? Do you really believe that? There will be more bad news that permeates the airways. Can we truly believe that all will be bad…or even worse? Hardly, because there is much good in the world if we look for it.
Some of us who love the beautiful things of life may begin to think how we can make our homes or yards more inviting…more lovely. We pull out the paint samples or look at new decorating ideas. For those of us who are lucky to live in Florida during the winter, we watch the flowers bloom, hear the birds sing that have flown down from the cold north and feel the warmth of the sun. Even our little Japanese cherry tree is beginning to blossom.
My vote is to eat right and let the weight take care of itself…and believe little of what I hear on the news. My intentions are to listen more to the “small, still voice” that says, “Do this…or that because you are representing the God of love to your family, your neighbors and even those whom you have never met. This year will have great possibilities!”
Recently, I heard a very good monologue by someone many of you may have seen on TV…Joanna Gaines of the TV program, Fixer Upper. Joanna learned what her real intentions should be… in the midst of pressure, climbing the ladders of a business success and then finally, listening to the “small, still voice” of God.
I thought her message would be a very good one for all of us to listen to while she shows us some beautiful homes that her talents have accomplished in years past. We all have talents…and most are different from hers, but her lesson-learned, when it comes to intentions, can be applied to all of us…young or old, rich, not so rich or poor, famous…and not famous. We are God’s children in God’s world. This, we should not forget. LOOK for the beauty. Be part of the beauty in this fresh, new start of intentions for this New Year.
Blessings to all my readers. N.Boyer
