THE BREATH OF GOD
The song below was written in a small devotional book that I keep beside my bed. The words seemed to speak to me in the middle of the night. I hope it will speak to you. To have the breath of God…even the slightest breath, come into our lives would be far more than we could ask.
Who was Edwin Hatch, the writer of this song?
Edwin Hatch was a Church of England vicar and the Professor of Classics at the University of Trinity College in Canada. “Breathe on Me, Breath of God” is an English Christian hymn, which was written by him in the 1800’s. It was first published privately in 1878 and publicly published in 1886.
