N.W.BOYER…Christian Author… Looking for the Coming of Christ

Coming TOGETHER

My last blog was in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King. It was in that writing that I said that with today’s situation in American, he might be the “saddest man in heaven…if he can know America today.” However, today…I think he might be smiling and saying “AMEN…brothers and sisters…AMEN.”

The reason for the smile is what happened AFTER a terrorist attacked a worship service at Congregation Beth Israel synagogue in Colleyville, Texas, , threatening to kill all of the hostages. He had even been served tea by the Rabbi who had allowed him into the building, thinking that the man might need some help.

Jeffery Cohen, another hostage, gave this description:

“I heard that unmistakable sound of an automatic slide engaging a round. But it was out of place and the building makes many strange sounds,” he wrote in his post. “Rabbi Charlie heard it too and looked over at our ‘guest.’ Within a moment, he was yelling something (but that wasn’t important). I keep my phone next to me during services, and that was important. I quickly dialed 911 and put the phone screen side down on the chair and moved as commanded.”

Hostages…after escape

“Somehow together, we made it through that traumatic ordeal,” Rabbi Cytron-Walker said in Monday’s service.. “The last hour or so of the standoff, he wasn’t getting what he wanted. It didn’t look good. It didn’t sound good,” he said

After a long, 11 hour stand-off, the Rabbi threw a chair at the attacker and they were able to escape. With the help of the police force, FBI and negotiators, the crisis was over.

Afterwards, this is what Rabbi Cytron-Walker said,

“I just want to give thanks and appreciation for all of the love and all of the support from the Jewish community, my people; from the Muslim community; from the Christian community; from all faiths, all backgrounds,” he said. “Friends, acquaintances, strangers all over the world. It’s truly been overwhelming.”

This is LOVE and COMING TOGETHER. In his speeches, Dr. King reminded his audiences and congregations that “No matter what you accomplish in life, without LOVE…you have NOTHING.”

Smile on…Dr. King…there WILL BE HOPE for us yet!

Zechariah saw in a vision the first coming of the Messiah to earth and His people’s rejection of Him. In a subsequent vision, Zechariah saw the Messiah’s Second Coming, when He will return to the earth and deliver His people from the nations gathered to fight them. At this time, the Jews will recognize Jesus Christ as the Messiah and worship Him. Zechariah 9-14

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:1-27

ONE DAY ALL WILL BE DIFFERENT
