Feeling Really Small?

Take a walk outside on any clear evening and the masses of stars and planets can be seen in their glory. We found this especially true when we lived in VA and there were no street lights to hinder the view. It is definitely a time to feel very small in the scale of God’s creation. The question always arises: “How can God care for me as an individual when there is so much out there in space? Maybe He also has other worlds, undiscovered, that He alone knows about. So many questions, but what we must remember is “GOD IS GOD.” We have the finite minds…He doesn’t. He is all knowing and all caring.

Our help is in the name of the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth. Psalm 24:8

Now that we have safely landed Perseverance on the surface of Mars, it may be worth looking at other passages of the Holy Scriptures which tell us about God’s glorious creation:

And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. .. Genesis 1:14-19

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Psalm 19:1

By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. Hebrews 11:3

We marveled when man stepped foot on the moon. Now, we marvel at the fact that one day man will step foot upon Mars. It will most likely be in the lifetime of someone reading this blog. We should give God the praise and the thankfulness that He has given scientists and many others the ability to bring man into space exploration. Thank you, NASA, for all your efforts and hard work.
